Freedom is an innovative LED-luminaire which makes it possible to create free forms in the air, on the ceiling and the wall. With the help of two modules, one straight and one curved , the fixture bulit up to comply with the room's design or a creative idea. The intention has been to provide architects, interior designers and lighting designers full freedom of expression.
Freedom is characterized by a light application that is uncommon in the segment. The luminaire is not primarily a decorative solution, without the it providing an adequate general lighting that does not require supplementing. LED is the key to the form of Freedom, but also places heavy demands on the lighting technology.
Ottoman decor, red wine and classical music were the very first inspiration for Freedom. The design process began with an idea for a big, black, floating circle of LEDs, but evolved into a literal free line, based on the mathematical duodecimal system. Together with Fagerhult’s development skills, we managed to realise the concept. It took faith, time, trust and innovative collaboration – the result serves architecture, light and the creator in an entirely new way.”
