Make a life cycle cost calculation for the environment
The cost of replacing the lighting system can provide a quick return as the investment cost is offset by reduced energy consumption. You can see in black and white how much the installation costs in the long term and how much you save from it by making a life cycle cost calculation. The Fagerhult Life Cycle Cost Calculator, LCC, illustrates the connection between the cost of investment, choice of lighting solution, energy consumption and the environmental impact.
The LCC calculator works out the total installation cost, the repayment time and takes interest rates and inflation into consideration. It is also possible to compare several solutions and to include several luminaire types in one and the same solution. The presentation is made taking the requirements in the European Energy Directive into consideration and the carbon dioxide emissions are presented separately in an emissions diagram. The printout can be made as a summary or in greater detail. With this information about the lighting solution, it is easier to dimension other functions in the system, e.g. cooling, and in that way, reduce energy costs even more.

The luminaire’s energy efficiency is always presented as a degree of efficiency. Luminaire efficiency of 90% states how much of the consumed energy the luminaire can transform into light.
